Galway’s hottest new wine and tapas venue is set to open tomorrow near the Spanish Arch after building hype for weeks.

La Vina Wine Bar at 8 Quay Lane will be open from Wednesday 14 May from 4pm to late and will keep these hours each week from Wednesdays to Saturdays.

Following on from the success of The Lane wine bar on Kirwan’s Lane, La Vina is set to become Galway’s newest culinary gem and will have a strong focus on delicious tapas and a wide selection of Old-World wines.

The venue’s management have promised the public that from the moment they step foot inside they will be “enveloped in a warm and inviting ambiance that complement its picturesque location”.

The decor at La Vina is set to be rustic and stylish in order to create a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere.

Each tapas dish aims to reflect the culture of Spain and beyond and will be meticulously prepared using only the freshest ingredients, the bar’s team have said.

The location of La Vina, overlooking the Spanish Arch and the River Corrib is sure to add an extra layer of charm to the spot.

In a circle-of-lie type scenario, as one wine establishment opens, another closes. Woodberry Wines on Middle Street announced in late April that it would shut up shop and be running a massive sale on its current stock of champagne and wine.

The 23 year old shop is closing on Saturday May 18th and will be running a 20% off everything sale, with extra discounts on selected lines.
