School districts throughout the state are pausing in-person instruction because of cases of coronavirus among staff and students.
In some cases, the switch to all-remote classes is temporary, but many districts have opted to go remote through January. And some districts have only had to send home students from one school, where the cases of COVID-19 were found, while students at other schools in that district continued in-person learning.
The state does not maintain a public list of the schools or districts that have had to close down, but on Sept. 30 it launched a dashboard that identifies counties, number of schools and cases that were transmitted in school buildings or through school activities. Currently, 88 schools have had a total of 388 cases.
Here are the districts that are currently doing remote-only learning because of COVID-19 cases.:
Pleasantville: The district will be fully virtual until the last week of January.
Bergen County: All four Bergen County Technical High School campuses will do remote learning only until at least Jan. 15.
Burlington County
Cinnaminson: The district will be fully remote through Jan. 8.
Black Horse Pike Regional School District: The district will be virtual until Jan. 8.
Gloucester Township: The district will be fully remote Nov. 23 through Jan. 8.
Millville: The district will be fully remote from Nov. 30 until Jan. 19.
Montclair: Montclair’s plan to transition from virtual to hybrid instruction at its 11 public schools on Nov. 16 has been put on hold. It will be phased in after the holidays beginning with grade PreK-5 students and all special needs students beginning January 25 followed by grades 6-12 on February 8.
